Belmond organizes trips in trains with historical furnishings from the 1920s. Carriages in Art-Deco style, restored with beautiful inlays, bring the tourist back in time: in the Belle Èpoque, in the enchantment of a world that no longer exists.
The Venice Simplon-Orient-Express train runs from London to Venice but can include other destinations: Paris, Budapest, Istanbul, Prague, Vienna and Stockholm. The Eastern & Oriental Express train travels through Singapore, Thailanda, Malaysia and Laos.
On the train, the restaurant offers lunches and dinners prepared by the best chefs: the ingredients are loaded along the way and must respect high standards of quality and freshness.

Belmond must transport food in professional isothermal containers. It requires guarantees on the degree of preservation of food, because dining on historical trains is part of the “dream”: a journey from another era where every detail is perfect.
The quality of the transported food, the respect and the constant control of the temperature are decisive.
Transporting food on dining cars, moreover, has limitations: they need thermal containers of the right size and suitable design. The Venice Simplon-Orient-Express has three restored restaurant carriages of the Twenties: it is important to safeguard the train and use containers that can not damage the furnishings during the journey.
